Next week is an important time for the football community. From April 28th to May 4th, we’ll be celebrating Community Umpire Week. This is a great opportunity to highlight the crucial role of umpires and inspire more people to get involved in umpiring AFL at the grassroots level.
Without umpires, there is no game. Umpires won’t always get every decision right—they’re human, and mistakes happen. It’s important to remember that they’re tasked with making split-second calls in a fast-paced game. Respect is key, both for the umpires and for the game itself.
