Welcome to the 2023 Hampden Football Netball League season. After 2 years of frustrating and challenging COVID interruptions, it was terrific to play out a full 2022 season. Congratulations to everyone on their efforts last year, in particular to the Koroit FNC and South Warrnambool FNC for taking out the Sungold Milk Senior Football and Open Netball Premierships respectively.
The 2023 season has certainly come up quickly, but I’m personally looking forward to a great season ahead with many clubs working hard during the off-season to bolster their line-ups on the field and on the court this year. We have certainly been reminded these past few years that the ability for people to reconnect with friends and their community is more important than ever and what better environment to do that than a football/netball club.
Thanks to all the volunteers that have kept working hard to ensure their club is up and about this season. Thanks also to Mike Farrow (our league administrator) and the HFNL board members that have worked on preparation for the season and our major partners and sponsors that provide the financial support to ensure our short and long-term viability. In particular, I would like to thank our major sponsors in McDonalds, Powercor, South West TAFE and Sungold Milk.
Good luck to all clubs, coaches and players that can put the pre-season grind behind them and get stuck into playing games of footy and netball.
