HFNL Weekly Netball Wrap: Round 12

HFNL Weekly Netball Wrap: Round 12

11th July 2025

Firstly, a huge congratulations to our Hampden FNL U13, U17, and Open Netball teams who represented the league with pride at the Association Championships State Finals in Melbourne a fortnight ago. All three teams made it through to the semi-finals, a remarkable achievement against elite opposition from across Victoria. We are extremely proud of their efforts and the way they conducted themselves throughout the tournament. A big thank you to our dedicated coaches – Kate Dobson, Marie Clare Smedts, Danielle McInerney, and Jill Leader – for their leadership and commitment to our representative netball program.

This weekend marks Round 12, and the matchups promise some high-stakes netball across the region.

The headline act is undoubtedly South Warrnambool vs Koroit, a clash that will showcase some of the competition’s most talented players. Both teams are in strong form and will be eager to claim bragging rights and vital premiership points as finals approach.

Camperdown currently clings to fifth spot and is feeling the pressure from teams just outside the top five. They face Port Fairy in what looms as a must-win game. The Magpies have shown resilience this season, but the Seagulls will be keen to cause an upset and derail their finals hopes.

Meanwhile, Terang Mortlake, despite dealing with injuries, remains a dangerous opponent with depth and talent across the court. They face Cobden, who are hunting a top-three finish and will be determined to keep their momentum going.

With just a few rounds remaining, every result matters. Expect intensity, high skill levels, and no shortage of drama as we head into a defining weekend of Hampden FNL netball.
