Umpiring Notes

Congratulations to Charley Samson from the Portland FNCC who was successful in obtaining her C Badge Accreditation on Anzac Day (Round 4).  It takes a great deal of time and commitment to achieve this result and we thank Charley for what she brings to the league as an Umpire.  Congratulations Charley, awesome effort.

Milestone Games

If any Club has any upcoming milestone games for their players, can you please let me know a couple of weeks in advance as I would love to be able to recognise these efforts in the Online Record.

My Predictions for this Week

Warrnambool take on ladder leaders South Warrnambool at the Reid.  The Roosters are proving to be the early premiership favourite as they continue to improve each week.  They have strength at both ends of the court and are likely to expose the Blues depth through the centre court.  South will take the points here.

Cobden will be tested when they take on Koroit at Victoria Park.  Both teams are strong defensively but I think Cobden will be able to limit Koroit’s opportunities in attack and if the Bombers are able to capitalise with accurate shooting, they may score a narrow win over the Saints.

Terang Mortlake will be looking for another win when they come up against the Hamilton Kangaroos.  The Bye last week has hopefully helped the Kangaroos long list of injuries but the Bloods are beginning to show signs of being the big improvers from last season.   Eboni Knights from Terang Mortlake has been a welcome inclusion into the bloods attack and I think she will help the bloods score their third win for the season.

Camperdown had a confident boosting win over Portland last round.  This week they take on Port Fairy in what I see as another close encounter.  Camperdown are rebuilding with some exciting young talent and have a good mix of experience.  Port Fairy will be eager to get their first win but I think Camperdown will get over the line in a tough contest.

North Warrnambool make the journey to Hanlon Park to take on a much improved Portland Tigers.  Jessica Crowe and Heidi Jones have been combining well in the circle but will be tested in this week’s clash when they come up against some strong defensive pressure from the Eagles.  North have struggled to find their best form in the early matches but they should get the win over a determined Tigers.

Good Luck to all Football and Netball Teams competing this weekend.
