FORMER South Warrnambool export Hugh McCluggage produced another consistent performance to help the Brisbane Lions to a fourth successive victory last weekend.
The midfielder had a 21 disposal outing and sent the ball inside 50 eight times as the Lions held off a Fremantle outfit featuring Sean Darcy.
Darcy enjoyed a strong battle with Lions big man Oscar McInerney, winning the hitouts 39-30 and finishing with 18 touches and four clearances.
Koroit product Willem Drew was instrumental for Port Adelaide in its win over Portland’s Rowan Marshall and his St Kilda team-mates.
Drew had 15 touches, eight tackles and two clearances for the Power, while Marshall collected 26 touches, had 28 hit-outs and laid 10 tackles for the Saints.
Jamarra Ugle-Hagan kicked two goals from 10 touches in the Western Bulldogs win over Hawthorn, while Carlton midfielder Sam Walsh was prolific with 30 touches and 10 tackles in the Blues big triumph over West Coast Eagles.
Jamaine Jones collected 15 touches and laid five tackles for the Eagles as he continues his solid campaign in the west.
North Melbourne midfielder Ben Cunnington produced his best display of the season, kicking a goal from 27 possessions in the Kangaroos loss to Melbourne.
Former Cobden exports Zach Merrett and Gary Rohan went head-to-head for Essendon and Geelong respectively, with Rohan’s Cats claiming a 28 point win.
Rohan kicked a goal from five disposals for the Cats, while Merrett had 19 touches and seven tackles in his return from suspension.
Josh Corbett rounded out the week for the local exports, but the former North Warrnambool Eagle wasn’t in the action as he was carried over as a travelling emergency for the Dockers clash with Brisbane.
