The Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) is thrilled to unveil the 2025 season fixture, promising an exciting year for players, supporters, and communities across the region.


Key Dates and Highlights
Season Opener Start:
The 2025 HFNL season will kick off on Saturday, April 5th, marking the beginning of another competitive competition.


Good Friday Clash:
A blockbuster Good Friday match on April 18th will see Koroit take on reigning premiers South Warrnambool at Victoria Park, a clash sure to draw a huge crowd as these two powerhouses go head-to-head under the Easter spotlight.


ANZAC Day Games:
In honor of ANZAC Day, the HFNL will stage two marquee matches on Friday, April 25th:

  • Hamilton vs Portland at the newly redeveloped Melville Oval
  • Terang Mortlake vs Cobden at Wilson’s DC Farran Oval

Indigenous Round:
May 24th (Round 7) will be Indigenous Round, celebrating and highlighting the contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have made to the game of football and netball in our region.


Interleague:
Interleague will resume against the Ballarat FNL on July 5th, with Ballarat hosting next year’s game, venue to be confirmed.


Super Saturday Contests:
Once again, some clubs will feature in Super Saturday contests, delivering an action-packed day of football and netball at the nominated venue.


Hybrid Games:
The league in collaboration with multiple clubs have organised Hybrid Saturdays in 2025. Hybrid Saturday’s will see all senior and junior football teams will play on the same day across two venues/ovals, within the hosting team’s township. Camperdown, Terang Mortlake, Koroit, Port Fairy and the Hamilton Kangaroos will feature in many of these fixtures.


HFNL Grand Final:
The Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) has announced a significant change to its 2025 season, with the Grand Final to be staged on the AFL Grand Final public holiday, Friday, September 26th. This move marks the first time the HFNL decider will align with the public holiday, presenting an exciting opportunity for the league to further showcase its competition and highlight the elite talent across its football and netball teams.
